柿渋染めの大漁旗で仕立てた、一点もののバッグ
昔の大漁旗を柿渋で染め、味わい深い色合いに仕上げた生地でバッグを作りました。
大漁旗は、漁に出る船の大漁や安全を願って掲げられてきた、縁起の良い旗。
鮮やかだった色柄に柿渋染めを施すことで、色がやわらかく落ち着き、長い年月を重ねたような独特の風合いが生まれています。
大胆な赤や緑の色柄が柿渋の茶色と重なり、どこか懐かしく、でも存在感のある仕上がりに。
開口部はゴム仕様でたっぷり広げることができ、荷物もしっかり入る使いやすいサイズです。
持ち手には別の大漁旗の生地を組み合わせ、細かなところまで遊び心を加えました。
ちょこんと付けた栃の実の飾りもポイントです。
同じ大漁旗でも、染まり方や色の出方、残る柄は一つひとつ違います。
そのため、同じものは二度と作れない一点もの。
使い込むほどに生地が馴染み、さらに味わいが増していくのも古布バッグならではの楽しみです。

One-of-a-Kind Bag Made from a Persimmon-Dyed Japanese Fishing Flag
This one-of-a-kind bag is handmade from a vintage Japanese fishing flag, known as a “Tairyo-bata,” which has been dyed with natural persimmon tannin dye.
Tairyo-bata were traditionally displayed on fishing boats to celebrate a good catch and to wish for a safe and successful fishing trip. They are considered auspicious symbols of good fortune and prosperity.
The original bright colors and bold patterns have been softened by persimmon dye, creating warm, earthy tones and a beautifully aged appearance.
The striking red and green patterns blend beautifully with the rich brown tones of the persimmon dye, giving the bag a nostalgic yet distinctive character.
The opening can be spread wide, making it easy to place and take out your belongings. The generous size makes it practical for everyday use.
Different pieces of vintage fishing-flag fabric have been combined throughout the bag, with a small handmade fabric charm adding a playful touch.
Because each vintage flag reacts differently to the dye, every bag has its own unique colors, patterns, and texture. No two bags can ever be exactly the same.
With use, the fabric will soften and develop even more character.
An old Japanese fishing flag has been given a new life as a unique everyday bag.
